Shinra Kusakabe is a third generation pyrokinetic youth, who received the nickname “Devil’s Footprints” because of his ability to set his feet on fire at will. It joins Special Fire Force Company 8 which features other pyrokinetics that have dedicated themselves to ending Infernal attacks for good while investigating Companies 1 through 7 for possible corruption in their ranks. Shinra starts to discover that his younger brother’s abduction during the fire that assassinated his mother 12 years ago is the result of a sinister cult behind the Infernal assaults. Company 8 and its allies oppose the White Cloaks and their Ashen Flame Knights, who are seeking other individuals such as Shinra and his brother (Sho) to carry out a scheme to recreate the Great Disaster.
